What is a Pre-Authorisation?

A pre-authorisation is a temporary hold on funds from your card to secure your booking. No money is taken at the time of booking. The hold will only be charged if your booking is cancelled late, numbers reduce, or guests fail to attend. If your full party arrives as planned, the pre-authorisation is released and you simply pay your bill in-house on the day.

Afternoon Tea Bookings

• A pre-authorised payment of £10 per person is required to secure bookings.
• The pre-authorisation will only be charged if the booking is cancelled within 48 hours of the reservation time or if guests fail to attend.
• Orders cannot be amended within the final 48 hours before booking.
• If bookings are cancelled on the same day, the full payment will be charged.

Regular Café Menu Group Bookings

• For bookings of 10 or more, a pre-authorised payment of £10 per person is required at the time of booking, and a pre-order must be completed no later than 48 hours before the reservation.
• The pre-authorisation will only be charged if the booking is cancelled within 24 hours of the reservation time or if guests fail to attend.

General Booking Conditions

• Pre-authorised payments will only be taken if guests cancel late or fail to attend. If the full party arrives, no pre-authorisation is charged and your bill is settled in-house on the day.
• If numbers attending reduce, pre-authorised payments for those not attending will still be charged and are non-refundable.
• Please arrive on time for your reservation – late arrivals may impact service and seating availability.
• Management reserves the right to amend or cancel bookings in exceptional circumstances (you will be notified as soon as possible if this occurs).
• Tables will only be held for 15 minutes past your booking time, unless you contact us to let us know you are running late. After this, your table may be released and resold.
